About

Hi! My name is Claire Radler, and I am a junior at the University of Notre Dame. The original purpose of this blog was to showcase my work from Data Journalism course during the spring 2017 semester. I am majoring in Political Science and minoring in Journalism, and I am originally from Winnetka, IL.

On campus I am involved in a variety of activities. My sophomore year, I was the Viewpoint Editor for The Observer, running the department and managing over twenty columnists. It is a daily paper, so I was almost always in The Observer office, located in the basement of South Dining Hall. I was also the Vice President of my dorm, Flaherty Hall. Flaherty was a new dorm on campus last year, so we worked very hard to build our presence on campus, and had a great time doing it.

However, this semester I will not be on campus, I will be studying abroad in London. We have been encouraged by the program and our professors to document our time here, and a blog was at the top of their list, so here we are. Check back frequently for updates, I can’t promise anything groundbreaking, but hopefully it’ll be more interesting than anything I was doing in South Bend, Indiana.

I hope that this blog will turn into somewhat of a portfolio over the next few months, as recruiting season will be in full swing. After graduation, I hope to work in the field of advertising, communications, marketing or journalism. During my freshman year at Notre Dame, I was a Communications Intern, and this past summer I was a Copywriting Intern at Schawk! This semester, as well as taking four classes, I am working at Publicis London as a Consultancy and Media Research Intern.

I am an avid reader, photographer, and coffee drinker (averaging at least 3 cups a day). When I am not in class, working, or doing homework, I love to draw, write, read and travel. Thanks for visiting my blog!
